These stories were clearly created by grumpy, sometimes malicious religious people who did NOT understand science

There are quite a few “Christian God proving” stories that have circulated the internet for at least a million years, and they all start with an atheist professor or teacher as the villain claiming “God is evil” or “there’s no God,” and then a good faithful, wise student teaches the professor a good lesson. Some stories even allege the wise student is Einstein. In one typical story, Einstein argued with his atheist teacher when he was a kid (college student in some version). The teacher claims that God is evil because he creates everything, and there’s evil in this world. Our genius Einstein stands up and asks “does cold exist?” When the teacher says of course, he replies:

In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
