Thanks for reading. From what I see, in Chinese med, grapefruit is “cold,” and therefore is good for “cooling” the heat. But people with stomach problems shouldn’t eat too much. On the other hand, garlic, though super healthy, can “heat up” the fire in the body (e.g., https://www.facebook.com/cmp.yuenkwan/posts/1380760545272250/). But I’m like you: I LOVE garlic instead of chili (by the way, it also has some medical effects, according to Chinese medicine, but because it’s not a native plant, Chinese med seems not to address it a lot).
But I have to say that there isn’t a lot of information about Chinese medicine online. In the future I might want to try to dig deeper.
