Thanks for reading. From what I see, in Chinese med, grapefruit is “cold,” and therefore is good for “cooling” the heat. According to this site, long-term consumption can lead to several benefits such as the beautification of the skin (https://kknews.cc/health/nkgara5.html). But people with stomach problems shouldn’t eat too much. On the other hand, garlic, though super healthy, can “heat up” the fire in the body (e.g., https://www.facebook.com/cmp.yuenkwan/posts/1380760545272250/). But I’m like you: I LOVE garlic instead of chili (by the way, it also has some medical effects, according to Chinese medicine, but because it’s not a native plant, Chinese med seems not to address it a lot).

But I have to say that there isn’t a lot of information about Chinese medicine online. In the future I might want to try to dig deeper.
